It is design to be used anywhere in the sluice box\n\nbut works very well \"up top\" and helps break up clay and dirt\n\nreleasing gold and heavy metals.\n\nMade from extruded EPDM rubber, the mat is heavy, durable, and can withstand\n\ncommercial sluice boxes in all temperature zones.\n\nThe mat is sold in 36\" widths and the length, as seen above, is\n\napproximately 6\". Prevents “launching them” into the upper layers.\n\nB- Gentle lift ramp. Not a sharp riffle or edge. This allows us to gently lift\n\nbottom material slightly without “throwing it” upwards.\n\nC- Leveling ramp. Allows the heavies to now be traveling straight down the bed,\n\nvs. traveling upwards. Kind of like driving off a cliff vs. using a RAMP to\n\njump a row of trucks. (That’s scientific redneck stuff.)\n\nD and E- Combination of gravity drop ledge and gentle vortex. Gold will\n\nimmediately fall downward, and a gentle vortex will assist the heaviest\n\nmaterials downward. The “V” grooves allow open cleaning to remove light\n\nmaterial. Gold now sitting on these grooves, is no longer in the “full\n\ncurrent” of the water flow.\n\nF- Miniature riffles. These mini riffles help catch finer gold particles that\n\ndidn’t make the “fall” of the first ramp. They are pulled downward and stored\n\nin the wash holes.\n\ng- Settling steps.
